Salsa in the Streets 2024

Put on your dancing shoes (asphalt-friendly ones) and get ready for the second annual Salsa in the Streets—SF's best ongoing summer block party.

Join us one Saturday a month this summer, May–September, 5 to 8 pm (May 18, June 15, July 20, Aug 24, Sept 21) in front of Tacolicious (741 Valencia St., SF) to dance on the street! We close the city block, DJ JuanLove spins the musica Cubana and everyone gets shimmying. This event is free and open to all ages, from the salsa experts to the salsa curious.

• An integral part of the Cuban Salsa (Timba) dance scene, DJ JuanLove has been making crowds burn the dance floors in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 11 years.

• Special guest, Cuban dance instructor, Pablo Dinámico, will teach a short dance class to get you warmed up and will also lead a Reggaeton Cubano. (And if you're lucky, there might even be some rueda.)

• You won't go hungry or thirsty! From its parklet, Tacolicious will be slinging al pastor tacos at happy hour prices and cold cervezas, margaritas and agua frescas.

Sponsored by the Valencia Corridor Merchants Association, this event is all-ages, FREE and open to the public.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • YES! Come one, come all.

  • We recommend using the Mission-Bartlett garage if you're going to drive. Street parking can be limited. For bikes, there is a bike lane that heads directly down Valencia. BART goers, please exit at the 16th Street station. We are only a couple blocks away.

  • Of course. We take reservations on Open Table. We recommend making them early because we get full during Salsa in the Streets.
